Malua cruised the Bay of Islands with John, Julie and David, whose sail-trimming skill made for some excellent sailing. We walked ashore and dived near the Poor Knights Islands in fine weather.
After the first crew left, Denny and I sailed on the east coast. Iain later joined us from Whangarei for the sail towards Auckland, including a week exploring Great Barrier Island. We left Malua for a month before returning to prepare for the May departure to Tonga.
