Back on the mainland coast we continued south-west towards Gibraltar. One memorable night brought a full moon, about 23 knots of wind aft of the beam and Malua running down the Spanish coast at close to hull speed.
Leaving the Mediterranean
Off Spain we crossed the Greenwich Meridian at 37°54.306’N, 0°00.0’W. The numbers on the navigation display marked another small milestone in the long westward voyage.
The coast and anchorages continued towards Gibraltar. After six Mediterranean seasons, the next stage would take Malua out through the Strait and into the Atlantic.
