I has been messing around in boats for most of my life. The boats I has built and sailed are part of the experience on board Malua.
Denny
Denny has been sailing with me since we met in the late 1960s. We sailed around Cape Town, and she came out on the abalone boat in the sea off Gordon’s Bay. She introduced the children to sailing soon after their birth, when we sailed on the Vaal River dam south of Johannesburg.
Denny has not undertaken a wide ocean crossing, but flies in to enjoy the destinations. We have spent a great deal of time together aboard Malua, including some extreme sailing on the west coast of Tasmania in the Southern Ocean and on the east coast of Australia. She is far more competent and experienced than she will admit!
Friends and family aboard
A number of friends have crewed on Malua since she was launched. Their company and skills are part of the story of each voyage.
